A serious accident occurred on the SC-390 highway, specifically on the section that crosses the municipality of Ipira, located in the Central-West Region of Santa Catarina, resulting in the tragic death of a 31-year-old motorcyclist on the afternoon of this Saturday, the 7th.
The motorcyclist was riding a luxury motorcycle, a BMW S1000 RR, when the accident occurred. This motorcycle, known for its high performance and value, was the vehicle involved in the accident that caught the attention of local authorities.
The accident also involved a Renault Sandero, driven by a 30-year-old woman. The collision was head-on, significantly increasing the severity of the damage and injuries.
According to information provided by Military Highway Police (PMRv) officers, the motorcyclist ended up crossing into the oncoming lane during a curve. This driving error was the main factor that led to the head-on collision with the oncoming vehicle.
Firefighters arrived quickly to the scene and provided first aid. The motorcyclist was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, with the hope that he would receive appropriate treatment and survive the accident.
Unfortunately, the motorcyclist’s injuries were extremely severe. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he did not survive and died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The driver of the Renault Sandero underwent a breathalyzer test, which revealed she was completely sober at the time of the accident. No evidence of alcohol consumption that could have contributed to the incident was found.
After the accident, the woman reported that her family had removed the car from the scene before authorities arrived. This may have hampered the immediate collection of evidence about the circumstances of the accident.
The impact of the collision was devastating for the motorcycle, which was valued between R$70,000 and R$150,000. The motorcycle was completely destroyed, with its fairing shattered and the vehicle reduced to rubble.
Given the situation, the motorcycle was taken to the police station, as no legal guardian was present when authorities arrived. The image of the accident clearly revealed the violent impact of the collision.
