To eliminate mites, there are some homemade formulas made from natural ingredients with acaricidal potential.
Eliminating mites is a concern for many people. They are small microorganisms belonging to the arachnid family that proliferate in many areas of our homes, especially bedrooms.
They are present in dust. And, although they cannot be seen with the naked eye, they reproduce in large numbers in humid, warm, and poorly ventilated environments.
While they don’t always cause problems at home, they are often associated with respiratory, eye, and skin allergies that appear for no other apparent reason.
General house cleaning helps eliminate mites, but only partially. Sometimes, it’s necessary to use complementary products to get rid of most of them.
Fortunately, in addition to commercial acaricides, there are natural solutions that help eliminate them. We’ll explain the four best ones in detail, so you don’t hesitate to use them.
- Baking soda and tea tree essential oil
A mixture of baking soda and tea tree essential oil is one of the alternative products that helps eliminate mites that grow in mattresses and pillows. Its properties alter the environment these microorganisms need to proliferate and also neutralize unpleasant odors.
Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda (150 g)
10 drops tea tree essential oil
Preparation:
Add the baking soda to a container and mix it with the tea tree essential oil.
Directions:
Spray the product on the items you want to clean (for example, the mattress) and let it sit for an hour.
After this time, scrub the solution with a brush and remove any excess with a hand-held vacuum.
Disinfect at least once a month.
