The entertainment world is in mourning. Silvia Galván , the stylist who revolutionized the beauty industry in Mexico and worked with stars like Belinda and Verónica Castro , died Tuesday after a grueling battle with stage four stomach cancer , confirmed journalist MarÃa Luisa Valdés Doria .
In a statement on Instagram, her family described Galván as an “exemplary woman, tireless entrepreneur, and pioneer” whose legacy will live on in those who knew her talent and generosity . Originally from Monterrey , the professional stood out for her transformations on programs such as Hoy and Cuéntamelo Ya on Televisa , in addition to running her own beauty salons .
In March , her daughters Jessica and Erika had revealed the diagnosis after emergency surgery , asking for prayers for her recovery. Close friends such as actress Silvia Pasquel and singer MarÃa del Sol deeply mourned her departure.
